The Dolomites offer some of the most spectacular and crowd free skiing in Europe. Still relatively unexplored by all but the Italians, it is the world’s largest interconnected ski area, and one of our favourites. Magnificent scenery amongst the vertiginous peaks of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, varied ski terrain to suit all levels and quite exceptional food, there’s very little not to like. For the adventurous skier, one of the most exhilarating ways of experiencing this jewel in the Alps, is on a ski safari. Whatever your ability, an itinerary can be tailor made, allowing you to discover the many different parts of the Dolomiti Superski region. You’ll explore one or more of the 12 Dolomiti Superski resorts and probably won’t ski the same lift twice. Accommodation can range from 5* luxury to authentic, secluded mountain refuges, and a qualified guide will ensure you experience the very best the mountains have to offer.
Each accommodation in the region is individually chosen for its quality and charm, and is typically the best in the area, giving guests the ultimate ski holiday experience. Italians are renowned for their hospitality and warmth, and you’ll find this in abundance everywhere you stay. This region is also famous for its exceptional food. Michelin star restaurants in hotels, and mountain restaurants serving incredibly high standard fare, make this a gourmet’s paradise. There is an impressive range of accommodation, meaning you can choose between a luxury 5* option, complete with spa in the main resorts, to a traditional, family run working farm, serving local cuisine in the more rural areas, and to the basic, but characterful mountain huts (rifugi), located high in the Dolomites, many of which are considered to be the best in the Alps. For a true mountain experience, we would definitely recommend at least one night in one of these.
The joy of a ski safari is that the planning and logistics are organised for you, leaving you to enjoy the skiing in spectacular surroundings. We can organise your flights, whilst the cost of the safari will include your guide, full briefings, accommodation with breakfast and dinners, transfers, Dolomiti Superski pass and local taxes.
Stay a night or two in the mountain rifugios. Many are very accessible and offer the best in local cuisine with a twist!
