This wonderful Alpine hideaway blends harmoniously into the immense natural beauty that surrounds it. Located on Europe’s largest and highest plateau, the high meadowland of the Alpe di Siusi, the hotel offers extraordinary views of the Italian Dolomites. Resplendent with understated luxury, there is a personal home from home vibe and a style reminiscent of a luxury safari lodge. Inspired by their travels to Namibia, the family owners have added a touch of Italian flair and sophistication to the lodge’s hide rugs and chairs, tribal-patterned textiles, open fires, and leather lounge chairs.
The main lodge is home to 18 Junior Suites, a glass-walled restaurant overlooking the jaw-dropping alpine scenery and sumptuous spa. Outside, a spectacular heated infinity pool is surrounded by 12 standalone wooden chalets. Staff are warm and friendly, and the Tyrolean hospitality instantly puts guests at ease. The use of local spruce and larch woods adds warmth and fragrance to the accommodation and the décor combines traditional mountain cosiness with modern sophistication. Scandinavian furniture, soft fur throws, large picture windows, spacious ensuite bathrooms with an infrared wellbeing radiator and expansive balconies complete the picture. Amenities include Wi-Fi, digital TV, safety deposit box, tea bar and soft drinks minibar. Junior Suites sleep up to two guests, while the chalets sleep up to three. Split across two levels, the chalets have a first-floor bedroom with a balcony offering fabulous Dolomite views and a bathroom with the same unrestricted views, which also features a separate Finnish sauna. The ground floor has a cosy living area with log fire. Children over 8 years are welcome and there is a Family Chalet sleeping up to five guests. Along with the living area, the ground floor includes a children’s bedroom and bathroom. The lodge operates on an all-inclusive basis and prides itself on the quality of the local produce used by their skilful chefs. Mountain herbs, edible flowers, alpine cheese, and meat from the sweetest pastures are all transformed into culinary delights. The day begins with a delicious and fortifying alpine breakfast, followed by a light lunch and South Tyrolean afternoon snack, which can be enjoyed on the sunny terrace. Dinner is a gourmet affair served in the panoramic restaurant. Guests also enjoy a complimentary selection of local beverages, speciality beers, premium wines, and fine spirits, all freely available throughout the day. Along with the dreamy outdoor heated infinity pool, the lodge has a superb spa and relaxation area, where you can soak up the views by day and the stars by night. It is also a great place to watch the enrosadira, the changing colours of the mountains at both dawn and dusk. The sauna and gym both offers mountain views and beauty treatments, and massage are both available. The lodge is a 2-hr 30-minute drive from Innsbruk Airport or around 2.5-hrs from Verona Airport. The closest town is Ortisei, while the lift station is within easy walking distance. Alternatively, Bolzano train station is around 38km awayWhen to visit
