A stay at the Namia River Retreat is a new way to experience Hoi An. Sitting on the peaceful banks of the Thu Bon River and surrounded by lush vegetation, Namia basks in a stunning location on the Con Ba Xa islet. The retreat offers daily complimentary cultural experiences and wellness journeys, along with a complimentary shuttle boat service to UNESCO-listed Hoi An Town. It is ideal for those looking to enrich their time in Hoi An by making deeper connections with its people, culture and traditions.
Inspired by the gentle rhythms of riverside living, Namia has been designed to be sustainable. The building incorporates mangroves as retaining walls, features energy-efficient lighting, water and waste reduction systems, indigenous plants and a bio-pond to encourage the wildlife. Community-minded, there is also a focus on local staff, produce and suppliers.
The retreat includes 60 beautifully appointed private pool villas. Expect handcrafted interiors by local artisans, stylish décor, natural materials, neutral tones and indulgent sunken bathtubs. Outside the terrace, dining area and private pool overlook the gardens or tranquil river. Each villa also includes complimentary bamboo bicycles. Entry level Nipa Villas boast garden views, while River View Villas overlook the calm waters of Thu Bon. There are six Family Villas with both ensuite bedroom and twin bedroom with vanity and shower, along with one spectacular Honeymoon Villa with a four-poster bed, riverside dining sala and spa room with sauna and Jacuzzi.
Guests can choose from two riverside dining venues, both inspired by local cuisine. Rates include breakfast at Mia Merchant, which offers all-day dining with Vietnamese and international choices. Breakfast can be taken at any time of day to suit you. For seafood and poolside snacks, head to Nam Eatery. Private and in-villa dining are also available.
The retreat boasts an inviting saltwater pool, an indoor and outdoor children’s play area (babysitting on request) and an outdoor yoga deck. The emphasis at Namia is on wellness and guests enjoy a daily 90-minute wellbeing journey, which includes a 30-minute herbal hammam and a 60-minute traditional therapy. The Lumina Spa also includes yoga and fitness studios, sauna, cold plunge pool and two traditional apothecaries. Therapies are based on Vietnamese herbology, incorporating traditional medicine and folk remedies.
What’s more, Namia offers complimentary daily activities to explore the area and its culture, including guided cycling trails, boat trips to the Nipa palm forest and an evening cultural cruise. Guests can also request bespoke experiences organised by the team of personal Hoi An hosts, either in person or via an App.
