Tierra Atacama is a boutique luxury hotel on the edge of San Pedro de Atacama. With dramatic views of the surrounding desert and majestic Licancabur Volcano, twenty eight elegant rooms offer a luxurious retreat and have been designed to bring the outside in, with subtle nods to the region's rich culture and history. Tierra Atacama provides guest experiences that combine outdoor adventure and sports with indoor comforts, hospitality and superior service. Designed by renowned Chilean architects Rodrigo Searle and Matías González, Tierra Atacama was built on the site of a long-abandoned cattle corral, and retains the ancient adobe mud brick walls of the original 150-year-old bull pen at its entrance. The hotel ambiance is casual and friendly; guests are encouraged to be comfortable in the hotel common areas just as if they were in their own homes. Mindful architecture combines local tradition with contemporary design, honoring the history of the site and taking inspiration from the colors and textures of the surrounding landscapes. In addition, the hotel has guest computers available, Wi-Fi, a TV lounge, excursions area, board games, outdoor campfire and views of the Licancabur volcano throughout the hotel.
