Owned by Korean actor, Shin Young-Kyun, this stylish boutique hotel is the first in Korea to become a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Located in Myeongdong, close to a metro station with direct links to Seoul Station, the hotel is ideally placed for enjoying the cultural, historic, and retail delights of the city. The owner’s film heritage is celebrated throughout the property which has a movie-themed décor, with film projection, stills, and memorabilia to complement the sleek design-led interiors. To add to the experience, there is a fashionable bistro Voo Doo, tranquil Rooftop Garden, small fitness centre and a library. The service is excellent, while the general vibe oozes understated glamour.
Guestrooms feature subtle echoes of the hotel’s movie theme with black and white stills and spotlight lighting around the mirrors. The clean contemporary lines and neutral tones create a soothing ambience. Expect large comfortable beds, Wi-Fi, HD TV, air purifier, safety deposit box, Nespresso machine and modern glass-walled ensuite bathroom with premium bathing products, robes, slippers, and hairdryer. For all-day American French dining, head to Voo Doo Bistrotheque, which also offers a café menu and bakery items. The Rooftop Garden is open during the summer months and is a great spot for enjoying a drink with views across the city.
