In the Sacred Valley of the Incas, among verdant fields and towering mountains, lies Rio Sagrado, A Belmond Hotel. Set on the banks of the rushing Urubamba River, this beautiful hotel is built in natural materials to resemble an authentic Andean village and is located 4 km outside Urubamba on the way to Ollantayatambo.
There are 21 rooms and suites with local artwork and textiles. All have welcome under-floor heating and spacious bathrooms with rain-head showers. There are also two small villas ideal for families, with three en-suite bedrooms, living area and kitchen. Relax and recline on the terrace, admiring swaying eucalyptus trees among blooming fuchsia flowers, all the while listening to the roaring Urubamba River.
The hotel's restaurant delivers superb Peruvian cuisine created from locally sourced ingredients including organic vegetables from the on-site garden. Choose to dine outside on the terrace taking in the stunning sights and sounds of the Urubama River, or stay indoors in the cool, chic Peruvian-style atmosphere. Located at the heart of the property at river level, the hotel's bar is the perfect place for a pre-dinner cocktail as the sun sets.
