Casa Oropendola is nestled in Colombia’s Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, perched 1,500 metres above sea level amidst rainforest and coffee fields. Nearby attractions include the Lost City archaeological site and Tayrona National Park, accessible via scenic helicopter flights. Guest rooms feature comfortable beds, ensuite bathrooms, and nature-inspired amenities. Guests enjoy gourmet meals prepared daily by an on-site chef, using organic local ingredients and garden-fresh produce. Communal spaces include a cosy living room with fireplace, expansive deck with fire pit, open kitchen, dining area, and lush garden, ideal for relaxation above the clouds.

Casa Oropéndola can be found in a remote section of the Sierra Nevada cloudforest in the East of Colombia and is completely surrounded by nature. Santa Marta is the nearest big town but the beautiful city of Cartagena is also within driving distance.

15-hour flight to Cartagena via Bogota, followed by a 4.5-hour drive to the lodge. When you reach the town of Minca you must change into a 4x4 vehicle for a 30-minute off-road drive.

Alternatively you can fly to Santa Marta, from where it is a 1.5-hour drive (4x4 still necessary for the final portion).

Helicopter transfers are also available.
