Ananda Hotel Boutique is located in the heart of the historic centre of Cartagena, just a few blocks away from Santo Domingo Square. The hotel is a newly renovated colonial house, which dates back to the early sixteenth century and is surrounded by fashionable boutiques, art galleries and gourmet restaurants. Just around the corner you will see the magnificent fort wall that once protected the city from pirates.
Ananda Hotel Boutique has 23 lovely suites in three different categories, luxury, deluxe and superior junior suite plus three patios, a pool with Jacuzzi, restaurant, bar-lounge, two terraces and a third with a Jacuzzi, day beds, gym and a Grand Salon. The restaurant offers a delicious combination of Caribbean and Mediterranean cuisine.
The hotel provides tours around the Walled City, la Popa Monastery, walks along the bay of Manga and boat trips to the Rosario Islands, famed for its beautiful coral reefs, sea flora and fauna, mangroves and lagoons. The film adaptation of Colombian Nobel prize-winning author Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s famous book ‘Love in the Time of Cholera’ was for the most part filmed in Cartagena’s historic quarter where Ananda Hotel Boutique is located. In fact, Garcia Marquez still has a house within the walled city.
