At a Glance
After breakfast you will head into the Mababe Community Area. As you game drive into this region, gaze in awe at majestic bull elephants crossing through the still waterways. Look out across a tranquil lagoon and see a break in the water as a hippo lifts it head to take a breath. You’ll head to your mobile camp which is your base for the next 3 nights. This afternoon, journey through the reed channels by mokoro, a traditional dug out canoe. Propelled with poles by expert guides, they will glide you through the wilds whilst you sit back and feel the serenity of these peaceful channels, observing frogs and insects amongst the reeds with splashes of colour catching your eye, as the vibrant blue and orange colours of the malachite kingfisher zip past you. Head back to camp and enjoy a delicious home cooked dinner before gathering around the crackling camp fire, listening to the sounds of lions roaring in the distance.
The rest of your time here will be spent immersing yourself in the wild and tracking predators and big game. The area is famed for lions, leopard and cheetah and as you are in a private concession, you have the thrilling experience of exploring the wild at night. As the spotlight turns on, meander through Mababe in your game vehicle, spotting the amber eyes of a leopard watching you from the darkness of an acacia tree. Or go in search for the rare and nocturnal species such as bush babies and aardvark.Where to stay

Botswana’s winter is during our British summer, and the weather is hot during the day, but it isn't a stifling heat, and cold at night. The summer months (British winter) can be hot and humid and there is a chance of rain. Botswana has one rainy season which runs between mid-December and runs through to mid-March.
