Laze by the pool overlooking the sandy shores of blissful Balapitiya, one of Sri Lanka's quieter coastal towns. A small fishing village, the area is flanked by beautiful golden beaches. Kumu Beach sits on a lovely stretch looking out to the Indian Ocean. Although the beach is not swimmable, you are just a short distance from Ambalangoda, a great spot for surfing and swimming.
Dining at Kumu Beach is very relaxed and comprises a fusion of both local and western dishes. The hotel's seaside location means fresh seafood is always in abundance, so make sure you sample the catch of the day on the sea view dining deck.
