Commissioned by the Archbishop of Milan and built in 1565 by Lombard Baroque, this former seminary has been beautifully remodelled to house the fashionable Portrait Milano. The wonderful Italian hospitality, attention to detail and timeless elegance, makes this historic and contemporary fusion, a luxurious 5-star option in Milan. Overlooking the city’s swish new Piazza del Quadrilatero in the fashion district of Corso Venezia and Via Sant’Andrea, exclusive boutiques and superb restaurants are both plentiful.

Expect historic colonnades, stone passageways, a private courtyard, and swimming pool lined with atmospheric stone columns. Lavish interiors reflect old school Hollywood glamour and a touch of Art Deco, with walnut boiserie walls, bronze and black lacquer furniture, jewel-toned velvet sofas, and stylish rattan seating. Despite the grandeur of the design and materials used, the service is warm, friendly, and efficient.

Spacious guestrooms and suites feature classic Italian design, plush velvets, seating area, desk, walk-in wardrobe, Wi-Fi and ensuite Carrara marble bathrooms with oversized shower. Guests can opt for garden views in all accommodation categories. The opulent suites are modelled on mid-century Milanese apartments, with superb attention to detail and a selection of lifestyle books. Portrait Studio and Studio Deluxe Rooms sleep up to two adults and one child, while Studio Deluxe Garden Rooms, along with the suites sleeps between three and four adults and up to two children. Two-bedroom family studios and suites are also available.

For classic Italian dishes, the 10_11 casual dining restaurant will not disappoint, whether you’re looking for a relaxed lunch or afternoon tea, while the 10_11 Bar is a stylish spot for an aperitif. In Spring 2023, the Quadrilatero’s Longevity Suite in the hotel’s basement is set to be unveiled, which includes the colonnaded pool, luxury spa and modern gym. Meanwhile, staff can reserve a session for the Milano’s guests at a nearby gym and pool.
