Location
Ratan Vilas is located just 3km from the airport in a quiet garden. From the hotel you are just a stone's throw away from the city's main attractions.
Ratan Vilas is a restored heritage mansion located just outside the walls of central Jodhpur yet within easy reach of the sights. The property serves both as a family home as well as a guesthouse and offers a great value, peaceful stay in the blue city.
Highlights
A family run property with a historical feel, enjoy the beautiful courtyard at the heart of the property
Just fifteen rooms make for an intimate stay
Conveniently located near Umaid Bhawan Palace and Polo Fields
A really peaceful option set away from the walled city, relax by the pool and take in this historic setting
Ratan Vilas is a small friendly, family run hotel family run by a family of polo enthusiasts. The property definitely feels like a home with lots of family antiques and memorabilia but at the same time offers comfort with air-conditioned, en suite rooms each of which are individually decorated, spacious and feature antique furniture along with beautiful Indian fabrics.
The hotel has just twenty rooms in total of which the rooms overlooking the pool come highly recommended. As a small hotel the restaurant offers one main restaurant serving delicious Indian fare. Breakfasts are generally served outside in the mornings in the gardens and lunches and dinners tend to be buffet style Indian fare (with continental food available on request). The hotel also features a lovely pool area for relaxing by when you are not exploring the blue-city.
Ratan Vilas is a great property for those who appreciate true Rajput hospitality and the owning family (the grandson of the Maharaja who built it) are often on sight. For Scott Dunn it offers something a little more simple than other properties but plenty of character and great management make this property great value for money. Furthermore the location slightly out of town might be preferred by those looking for quieter surrounds than the walled-city and in this respect its location slightly outside of this is enticing, perfect for exploring all Jodhpur has to offer.
