Bjorn Behlert

Africa & Safari Specialist

Travel for me started from a very young age, living in South-East Asia before moving back to Europe. My parents were keen travelers and always took my sister and I along, often to remote and largely unexplored places. My first taste of Africa came at the age of 5 and I was hooked instantly. From the wildlife, to the people and landscapes, it's a fascinating continent and one that I will never get tired of visiting. Since then I have traveled throughout Africa and lived in Zambia for 2 years, working at a conservation project and lodge. It is after this point that I moved into the travel industry to share my passion for this continent.

What Our Guests Have Said

Luxury Nile River Cruise FAQs

  • When's the best time to take a cruise on the Nile River?

The best time to take a Nile River cruise depends on what you want most from the experience. In terms of weather, between October and April is the best time to go. This is just before the extreme heat of summer, so it's cool and pleasant. However, this also means it's the busiest period, so you can expect to experience some crowds. The shoulder months from May to September are less popular, making it possible to explore onshore in relative peace. You'll have to be comfortable with significantly higher temperatures, though.

Tell our travel specialists what matters most to you and we'll let you know the best time for your luxury Nile River cruise.

  • Can I see the pyramids on a Nile River cruise?

No trip to Egypt would be complete without seeing the pyramids, which is why excursions to the iconic Pyramids of Giza are included on all our featured Nile River cruise itineraries. They're located on the Giza Plateau just 10 miles from Cairo, so we typically arrange for you to come to the capital a few days before or after your cruise. We'll ensure you have plenty of time to explore the last remaining wonder of the world up close.

  • What should I wear for a Nile River cruise?

You'll want clothes that'll keep you as comfortable as possible. Generally, this means clothes made from light and airy fabrics like cotton and linen. But bear in mind that it'll also depend on the time of year you take your cruise on the Nile River. Our experts will explain the details of what you should wear and pack after you book, so you'll always be prepared to make the most of your trip.

  • How long does a Nile River cruise typically last?

Our cruise itineraries last between 11 and 15 nights, giving you plenty of time to soak up all the Nile River has to offer. Be sure to let us know if you want your trip to be shorter or longer and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
