Step into the 16th-century cellars of Bodegas Lecea and journey back to the very origins of Rioja wine.
For over four generations, Bodegas Lecea has crafted wines from its own vineyards, fermenting them in concrete tanks maintained at a constant temperature within caves carved in the 16th century. Nestled in the historic Barrio de Las Bodegas in San Asensio, the area is home to more than 300 cellars forming a labyrinthine underground network.
Today, Bodegas Lecea preserves four interconnected cellars, offering visitors a unique chance to travel through time. Explore centuries-old winemaking techniques, discover the history of Rioja wine, and experience the traditions that have shaped this iconic region for over 500 years.
