Castello di Reschio is located just within the Umbrian borderline, grazing the Tuscan hills. Dating back to 1050, this recently-renovated castle is a historical marvel, and has been elegantly yet mindfully transformed into a spectacular luxury hotel, exuding effortless style.
The castle plays host to a collection of sophisticated rooms and suites, each one unique with bespoke furniture, antique ornaments and locally-crafted textiles. No room at Castello di Reschio is alike owing to the original structure and design of the building. As well as the in-castle rooms and suites, the property also boasts a collection of 10 magnificent private houses which are dotted across the estate. Each of the villas are perfectly positioned, allowing for spectacular, undisturbed views across the hillside.
The property prides itself on providing guests with decadent dishes, lovingly created by the chef using locally-sourced and in-season ingredients, many of which are from the estate itself. Here guests can expect olive oil from the surrounding trees, truffles from the forest, and vegetables just-picked from the kitchen garden. It doesn't get any fresher than this!
There's a superb choice of restaurants and bars to choose from at Castello di Reschio, including Ristorante Alle Scuderie, which exudes old-world Italian glamour, and serves up traditional pizzas straight from the outdoor oven. Located in the centre of the restaurant, guests will stumble upon Bar Centrale, the perfect place to enjoy an end-of-the-day Negroni.
Offering spectacular views across the hillside, Ristorante Al Castello plates up ever-tempting Italian classics, accompanied by magnificent sunsets in the summer. For something lighter - or sweeter - the Palm Court Bar is where guests can kick back and relax with an icy drink, book from the library, and a well-earned slice of cake from the tea trolley. However, if the poolside calls, make sure to visit Il Torrino, the poolside bar, where juices are freshly-squeezed, paninis are hot off the grill, and cocktails are shaken, not stirred.
The outdoor swimming pool is certainly a real draw for guests staying at Castello di Reschio, situated just outside the castle walls, with tall umbrella pines perfectly shading the deck, this is the place to relax. Elsewhere, guests can unwind at The Bathhouse, where hammams, saunas and a multitude of indulgent treatments are all on offer. A private spa is also available for those wishing for something more exclusive.
Whilst relaxation is very much accessible at Castello di Reschio, the property also offers a spectacular selection of unique experiences to keep guests busy. For experienced horse-riders, or equally those looking to learn, the estate features an outstanding stable, home to some of the country's finest Andalusian horses. Other experiences include cooking lessons and truffle hunting; clay pigeon shooting; and fishing. High quality bikes are available for guest use, as well as Astroturf courts for keen tennis players.
