The Church of the Nativity is the oldest site known to be continuously used as a place of worship in the history of Christianity, due to its religious link with the Nativity Grotto said to be the cave where the Jesus of Nazareth was birthed into the world.
During the event of the Massacre of the Innocents, the Holy Family found refuge in the Milk Grotto Chapel before fleeing to Egypt. The name references the event when a "drop of milk" of the Virgin Mary fell on the cave floor, effectively changing the cave's colour to white. Today, it is visited by healing infertile couples in hope that their prayers for children will be miraculously answered.
Discovered in 1895, the King David's Wells is said to be the site where the heroes from David's army draws water from during the battle with the Philistines.
Time permitting, visit the Walled Off Hotel for its museum and galleries.
