Highlights
Ramathra Fort offers an incredibly tranquil, rural setting
A great place to experience traditional home cooking

This stunning hill fort is part of a green farming belt in the Kalisil River valley and set in between Keoladeo Ghana Bird Sanctuary in Bharatpur and Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve in Sawai Madhopur. Your hosts are Ravi and Gitanjali Raj Pal, descendants of original founder of Ramathra.
The fort offers six rooms, and six garden tents. The tents are located within the ramparts, in the gardens, and offer excellent en suite facilities. They are furnished to a very high standard with modern amenities. Cosy day beds are located on the ramparts near to them; ideal to sneak away for a good read. The six rooms are located on the first and second floors of the main fort and all have amazing views. With balconies, sitting areas and large bathrooms, they provide you with everything you need. There is one dining room, but quite often meals are taken al fresco at various locations around the fort. Naturally, the ramparts make for an excellent location for pre-dinner drinks.
Jeep safaris offered by the hotel take you across the Daang plateau. Destinations include the Utgir Fort on the edge of the Chambal River valley, cave temples of Ghanteshvar and Kurka, and the Chuaki gorge. You'll experience local village life along the way and catch glimpses of all sorts of different game. The surrounding countryside is home to several varieties of deer, blue bulls, wolves jackals, hyenas and occasionally wild boar, bears, leopards and tigers.
