Palaces and Gardens of Potsdam

Commissioned by Frederick II, “The Great,” between 1745 and 1747, this Rococo masterpiece was conceived as a small summer retreat, a palace “sans souci,” without worries. Later, King Frederick Wilhelm IV extended and enhanced the wings in the 19th century, creating an elegant dialogue between history and grandeur.
