West Coast Wilderness Lodge remains one of the most easily accessible of the wilderness lodges in Western Canada which is one of its biggest draws. Located on the edge of the village of Egmont on British Columbia's pretty Sunshine Coast, it offers an away from it all experience, yet within easy reach of the city.
The lodge offers just 26 guest rooms making it the perfect intimate getaway for couples and also older families who want to get out and about and enjoy the crisp clean air. There is so much to do here from a walk to the exhilarating Shookumchuck rapids through to a trek to Pender Hill for glorious views of the inlets and forests. Go with a guide or guide yourselves, the choice is yours.
For adrenaline seekers take a zodiac tour out to discover the inlets at speed or actually head into the Shookumchuck rapids and watch some of the world's best kayakers taking them on. This area is also wonderful for wildlife and tours can take you in to some beautiful areas in search of seals, sea lions, eagles and ospreys. In the Autumn, it's not unusual to see a grizzly bear or two in this area as they feed along the shore.
Kayaking is also popular with guided tours or just kayak rental should you wish to explore at your own pace. For the more adventurous, there are overnight tours that find you camping away from the lodge, in a beautiful and peaceful location in comfortable tents and a campfire cookout under a blanket of stars.
In the evenings, retreat back to the lodge where fresh cuisine and spectacular views await you at the Inlet restaurant. Guests can choose to take an accommodation only package and dine as you go or include all meals and some activities, the choice is yours.

Day 1 - Farewell Harbour Lodge
On your first day at Farewell Harbour, you'll arrive at the lodge by water taxi from Alder Bay. After a welcome orientation and lunch, you'll head off by boat in search of marine wildlife on the Johnson Strait.

Day 3 - Farewell Harbour Lodge

Whistler Bear Viewing Tour

Day 4 - Farewell Harbour Lodge
Today you'll choose to enjoy your last day at Farewell Harbour either on a guided rainforest hike, a marine excursion or take a short kayak around Farewell Harbour, and soak in this secluded and spectacular island in the Great Bear Rainforest.
