Owned by Neyroz family for over 40 years, Hotel Hermitage feels like a warm and welcoming family home, with superlative levels of hospitality and alpine charm. Cosy lounges with cackling fires, warm wood décor, deep sofas and sumptuous fabrics create a sophisticated but homely ambience at this 5-star mountain chalet. Along with spacious accommodation, award-winning Relais & Châteaux fine dining, elegant smoking room and sophisticated spa, the hotel also offers panoramic views of the Matterhorn and captivating alpine scenery.
The Hermitage has just 38 rooms and suites, adding to the personal and intimate vibe. While each has been individually designed, all are spacious with a balcony or terrace, from which guests can take in the splendid mountain views. Expect alpine woods, fine fabrics, antique furnishings, original artwork, relaxing seating area, large comfortable beds with premium linens and spacious ensuite bathrooms with bathtub or shower. Standard amenities include climate control, Wi-Fi, flatscreen TV, safety deposit box, minibar, Nespresso coffee machine, fruit and homemade chocolates on arrival, bathrobes, slippers, and hairdryer. The overall effect is of a personal oasis in which to relax and soak up the scenery.
Entry level Classic/Attic Rooms sleep up to two guests with a balcony and mountain view, while Deluxe Rooms sleep up to three with both a King bed and sofa bed. There are three categories of suite. Junior Suites sleep up to three, while Prestige Suites can accommodate four guests. Couples looking for luxurious, elegant, and sophisticated accommodation can book a Master Suite, which sleeps two in considerable style. For groups and families of up to six, the hotel has a series of connecting rooms and suites which join together to form an apartment, Caterina di Challont.
Infused with refined elegance, the hotel’s award-winning restaurant, La Chandelle serves traditional Aosta Valley and Piedmont cuisine, alongside international classics, an excellent wine list, flawless service, and stunning Matterhorn views. For more casual dining, guests can enjoy lunch on the terrace or in the dining room of Le Bistrot de l’Hermitage, which serves regional dishes and modern international cuisine. To enjoy a cigar with a drink, the hotel has a Smoking Room, otherwise for a relaxing drink at any time of day, head to the Lounge Bar. For private dining, along with wine tasting sessions, guests can book the atmospheric Cellar.
To ease those legs the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle, which runs all day, between the hotel and the resort and lifts. After a day of strenuous activities, the hotel spa is the perfect place to relax and reenergise. The complex includes an indoor pool, mood showers, sauna, hammam, relaxation zone and fitness area. For additional pampering, guests can choose from a range of beauty and massage treatments from the Swiss skincare brand, Bellefontaine.
