Devour exciting Bahian cuisine created from fresh regional ingredients, alongside a superb selection of South American and international wines. Specialities include shrimp stew and oxtail steak wrapped in banana leaves. Do try the Chef’s Tasting Menu, a wonderful introduction to the local flavours of both Bahia and Brazil. Breakfast and dine on the shady terraces of Orixás and enjoy casual poolside lunches at Praia. The resort can also organise romantic private dinners to celebrate special occasions.
The site features several swimming pools, tennis courts, fitness centre and the Shamash Healing Space Spa. This dreamy spa aims to restore balance and wellbeing through a range of therapeutic rituals, massages, and yoga. Other leisure activities include relaxing on the beach, surfing the waves, hiking the beach trails, boat tours of local rivers, waterfalls and islands and guided local tours to Vila Rosa Farm, a local cocoa farm and factory for a chocolate tasting session. Children are welcome at Txai Itacaré and the resort provides a dedicated children’s pool and specific activities including painting, clay modelling, games and tree climbing.
Given the privileged beach location, a full range of watersports are on offer but you can also go horse riding into the Atlantic rainforest or why not explore the nearby river Rio de Contas in a canoe.
